Where is Blades Europe and how to get there

Blades Europe is being held in Edinburgh at Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Rd, Edinburgh EH8 8AS. The nearest station is is Edinburgh Waverley, which is a 15-minute walk away.  

If you choose to cycle to the event, 

Dynamic Earth is close to the National Cycle Network, with connections via Holyrood Park. The venue has bike racks located outside the building on Holyrood Road. The nearest bike rental is Cycle Scotland.

There are several open top tour buses which make regular stops at Dynamic Earth. Including Edinburgh Tours who hold Green Tourism Gold Award. The number 35 stops a 3-minute walk away from Dynamic Earth. Alternative routes include the 5, 7, 14, 29, 30, 31, 33, 37, 45 and 49 which stop on North Bridge and are a 10-minute walk away along Holyrood Road. Can I transfer my place to someone else?

Substitute delegates are welcome at no extra charge. Please notify us by sending an email to [email protected] with the full contact details (name, job title, email, dietary/accessibility requirements) of the new attendee.

Can I cancel my booking?

Cancellation of registrations must be received in writing to [email protected].

Cancellations received will be refunded at the following rates:

  • 30 days and more prior the event date: full fee refunded less an administration fee

  • 29 days and less prior to the event: we regret that no refund can be made.

Any cancellations that still have payment outstanding will be liable for either the administration fee, 50% of the registration fee or the full registration fee, depending on the date and time of the cancellation.

Substitute delegates are welcome at no extra charge but we require you to advise us of any substitutions (including full contact details, dietary and accessibility requirements) no later than Monday 29 September 2025.

Are one day tickets available to purchase?

One day tickets are not available for this event.

When will I receive joining instructions for the event?

You will receive joining instructions one week prior to the event. If you have not received this information, please email [email protected] with your booking reference number.

When will I receive my conference badge?

Upon arrival please head towards the registration desk where you will be provided with a badge. Please ensure that you wear your badge at all times. 

In the event that you lose your badge, a replacement must be obtained at registration. In addition, some of the exhibiting companies may ask to scan your badge. Please be aware that by doing this you will be providing your basic contact details; akin to handing them a business card.

Is there a cloakroom at the venue?

There will be a complimentary cloakroom for small bags and coats.

How do I book accommodation

Are lunch and refreshments included in the registration fee?

Hot and cold refreshments will be available in the networking area throughout the day. This is included in the ticket price. If you have indicated any allergies or dietary requirements when registering, these will be provided to the venue.

Is WI-FI available?

Complimentary WI-FI will be available for general web browsing and email throughout the event.

What is the dress code?

The dress code for the conference is smart casual and comfortable shoes are recommended.

Will there be photography at the event?

There will be photography and/or video production taking place during the conference and the resulting images may be used for promotional purposes on-line and/or in printed materials.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION


Emergency and First Aid

In the event of an emergency please contact a member of staff from Haymarket or Blades Europe, who are located on all levels and at the registration desk on the ground floor.

In the event of a fire alarm, please leave your belongings and exit via the clearly marked emergency exits, where stewards will guide you to the meeting point. Do not use the lifts.

Accessibility

We ask all our attendees if they have any additional requirements as part of the booking process and make every effort to accommodate them. We're committed to making this event accessible to everyone.

Is the Venue Accessible


The venue is fully accessible for wheelchair users. The most narrow part of the tour is 88cm or 34.5in.

There are three wheelchairs available for guest use on arrival at Dynamic Earth. There are free of charge to hire, and are subject to availability.

Are there any Access Toilets


Accessible toilets are available, one on each side of the building. Both are equipped with handrails and a red emergency pull cord. The toilets in the accessible bathroom are at a height of 46cm or 18in. The sink is at a height of 69cm or 27in.


Will there be any Special Sound and Visual Effects


Apart from stage lights there won’t be any flashing lights and loud music. Add more as per event nature and format.


Am I Allowed to Bring My Aider or Assistance Dog


Yes. Please inform us when booking so we can reserve a space for you and your aider / assistance dog. (Must be checked with the venue first)
