Chief Engineer for Wind, NCC

Ffion Rodes is the Chief Engineer for Wind, responsible for leading the NCC’s work to develop advanced engineering solutions that strengthen the performance, sustainability and digital capability of the wind sector. Her focus is on driving technical strategy, enabling high‑quality delivery, and supporting teams to tackle the complex engineering and operational challenges of renewable energy systems.  Since joining the NCC in 2017, she has held principal engineering roles in automation, process development, sustainability and wind, following a Jaguar Land Rover–sponsored doctorate at the University of Nottingham focused on advanced RTM processes. Her earlier career includes engineering roles at GE Aviation and Vestas, spanning aerospace structural analysis and wind turbine blade design.
