Andrew Yates

I have over a decade of experience in the wind industry, having begun my career as part of the first managerial intake at the Siemens Gamesa Blade Factory in Hull. I spent four years in the factory environment, where I led and delivered numerous operational and improvement projects within a high‑volume manufacturing setting.

I then transitioned into Offshore Service, initially managing an O&M contract from an SOV before progressing into senior operational leadership roles across the UK and Europe. During six years in offshore operations, I was responsible for the commercial, contractual, and overall performance as the O&M provider. This included managing regular annual blade works scopes, alongside the delivery of additional warranty blade projects across the UK.

Most recently, I joined GEV Wind Power as Head of Operations Support, where I am responsible for managing across functions such as EHS, Recruitment, HR, Technical and Stores Operations that enable the business to thrive across blade repair—from complex structural repairs to standard works—as well as service operations including retrofits, resource management, inspection, and multi‑scope work packages.
